Nothing to set up: Cubli backs up your databases and files by itself, and keeps them in a data centre in another country than your site. Every week we really restore a backup as a test, to be sure restoring works.
What is kept
- Your site’s files, such as WordPress uploads: every 6 hours, kept for 14 days.
- MySQL databases, such as WordPress’s: every 6 hours, kept for 14 days.
- Postgres databases: every change, kept for 14 days. So you can go back to any moment of the last 14 days.
- Your code: every version that was live is kept. See Change safely with staging, versions and logs.
What is set up for a site is shown in its Settings tab, under Backups, and for a database in its own panel.
Static has no database and no files of its own: your site comes from your code, and every version is kept.
Restore a backup
You cannot yet restore a backup from an earlier moment yourself from the dashboard. Mail support@cubli.io with your project’s name and the moment you want to go back to. Cubli support restores the backup for you.
Deleted something by accident
You can bring back a deleted site, database or whole project yourself for 14 days:
- A site or database: open the project, click the gear at the top right (Project settings), go to Recently deleted and click Restore. A site comes back with its own database, if that was deleted with it.
- A whole project: click Projects and look under Recently deleted. Only owners of the workspace see this. If an invoice for the project is still unpaid, pay it first.
Download a copy yourself
Want a copy on your own computer, for example to work locally? The Cubli CLI downloads your site’s code, database and files. See CLI commands. Such a copy holds your customers’ data: keep it safe and delete it once you are done.
