Safe PHP upgrades for WordPress

Cubli tests a new PHP version on a copy of your site first and shows which plugins have problems.

Want to move your WordPress site to a new PHP version? Cubli tries it on a copy first. You see whether it is safe, or which plugins and themes give errors. Only then do you switch.

What is new

  • Test first: Cubli runs a copy of your site next to the current one, on the new PHP version, and looks at the same pages on both. Your live site does not notice.
  • A clear result: safe, or which pages look different and which plugins give new errors.
  • Switch safely: a backup first, then Cubli checks your site still works. If something goes wrong, the previous version is live again by itself.

Why

A new PHP version is faster and safer, but an old plugin can break on it. Now you know before you switch.

How it works

  1. Open your WordPress site and choose the Settings tab, at PHP version.
  2. Choose a newer version and start the test. After a few minutes you see the result.
  3. Safe? Click Switch to PHP with that version.
