A WordPress site on Cubli is managed WordPress: Cubli keeps WordPress up to date, puts a page cache in front of it and lets you sign in from the dashboard. You find everything below by opening your project, clicking your site and choosing the WordPress or Settings tab.
Sign in without a password
In the WordPress tab, click Sign in to WordPress. You are signed in as an administrator straight away. The first time, if no administrator has your email address, Cubli asks which administrator you are in this site. Cubli remembers your choice.
Prefer only WordPress’s normal login? Switch off Sign in from the dashboard. Then only /wp-admin works, also for your AI tool.
Keep WordPress up to date
Cubli updates WordPress itself. Under Automatic updates you choose how often:
- Weekly
- As soon as it is out
- Off
An update runs at night, after a backup. Cubli looks at your site before and after the update. If anything differs, the previous version comes back at once. Your plugins, themes and content stay as they are: you update plugins and themes in WordPress itself.
Want a new version now? Click Update now next to Version.
Speed: the page cache
With the Page cache, visitors get finished pages in milliseconds. Signed-in people, forms and shop carts always get fresh pages. The cache clears itself when you save a page or post. Something still looks wrong? Click Clear cache.
Useful settings
- Maintenance mode: visitors see a calm “back soon” page, while signed-in editors keep working.
- Errors to Logs: PHP errors appear in the Logs tab, never on your site.
- Cubli support may sign in: only when you allow it. Support then signs in with a temporary user of its own, and you get an email each time.
Behind the scenes, Cubli runs wp-cron every minute, also without visitors, and WordPress’s mail goes through Cubli Mail. See Mail from your site.
PHP version and PHP settings
In the Settings tab you choose the PHP version. The default is Automatic (8.4). Another version builds the site again, without interruption.
Under PHP settings you can change the Max. upload size, Memory per request and Max. execution time, among others. For anything not listed there, use Advanced: own php.ini lines.
