Move a project to another workspace

Move a project with everything in it to another workspace of yours, or to a client who takes it over.

A project moves with everything in it to another workspace: a second workspace of your own, or one of a client who takes it over and pays. The site keeps running throughout.

To another workspace of yours

  1. Open the project and click the gear at the top right (Project settings).
  2. Under Move to another workspace, choose To another workspace of yours.
  3. Search the workspace by name and choose whether the project’s domains come along.
  4. Click Move now. You first see exactly what happens: from and to, which domains come along, the plan and who gets access. Confirm with Move now.

You own both workspaces, so it moves straight away. Nobody has to accept.

To someone else

  1. Under Move to another workspace, choose To someone else.
  2. Fill in the email address of the person who takes it over.
  3. Tick the domains that come along.
  4. Want to keep maintaining the project? Tick I stay on the project as admin.
  5. Click Offer the move.

They get a mail and, within 14 days, choose Accept or Decline, and which workspace the project goes to. Only then does it move. Until then you can Withdraw the offer.

What comes along

  • The project with its sites, databases and backups.
  • The plan. The new workspace pays from the next period; the current period is already paid.
  • The domains, if you choose so.

What does not come along: the project’s guests. Members of the new workspace see the project at once.

A project with an invoice past its due date only moves once that invoice is paid.
